A nicely written perspective. I take a different track. I believe we will use our technology to develop high tech underground cities where the rich and educated survive. Also a few independent settlement where high tech is also used. Everyone else will be left outside and not survive for long. Also I do believe our real estate is being surveyed by a much more advanced planetary civilization and we still don’t know what it is they’re interested in.
