All great ideas but how to get them implemented. The Republicans will never let these sensible ideas proceed.
I believe it's up to the governors to get together and discuss these issues. Perhaps the governors from states with the highest gdp and clearly the states which drive the US economy. California - 3,120,386 million.Texas - 1,772,132 million.New York - 1,705,127 million.Florida - 1,111,614 million.Illinois - 875,671 million.Pennsylvania - 788,500 million.Ohio - 683,460 million.Washington - 632,013 million.
Perhaps these governors could find some kind of compromise amongst themselves that would ensure the United States continues to work as one democratic country. If they don't I fear we'll see a nasty break up.
I'm always astounded when I remember the economy of the State of California is the largest in the United States, with a $3.4 trillion gross state product (GSP) as of 2021. It is the largest sub-national economy in the world. If California were a sovereign nation (2022), it would rank as the world's fifth largest economy, behind Germany and ahead of India.
Let's be honest is California really going to accept a gerrymandered Federal government if the Republicans are successful in pulling off their sheninangans. Highly unlikely given the economic power they wield. Also it provides much of the nation's food which gives them a lot of bargaining power.
Lets hope the California governor and others step forward and sort this mess of a supposedly United States soon.
