And we should be pragmatic in discounting supernatural possibilities that are implausible and indeed incoherent.

Read your article with interest. I like the idea of a historical Jesus as described in Zealot by Reza Aslan. I too also like the scientific approach to history.

Having recently discovered the field of physics and quantum physics however, I am now more inclined than you to believe in what you call the supernatural and I might call the paranormal. There are things which happen in this world which as yet have eluded a rationalist, scientific explanation. In the past we just didn't have the tools we needed to figure this out. The only possible explanation humans could place upon these extraordinary events included a pantheon of gods, fairies, demons and ghosts.

It now seems that our mythologies are in fact based on a Universe which we believe is designed around quantum physics and Maya (illusion, double slit, hologram etc.).

As more revelations occur on the non-human intelligences which are at work in our world and have been for millions of years, we will need to develop new understandings of what supernatural means. This will include so-called miracles.

The Catholic Church is well aware of this new science and these intelligences, and as usual is out in front. The new explanation no doubt will be that God knows and commands us all.

I will be curious what our fellow travelers, when they choose to reveal themselves, know of our origins and our gods and so-called miracles!
