Being a writer of speculative science fiction I can positively say that our military has evidence of travellers coming here from space or another dimension. So they’re here already and probably haven’t made contact.

Why? We’re very primitive and so I believe they wouldn’t be inclined to get in touch with us. If they want or need our planet they’ll take it with great ease, and if they’re anthropologists they’ll just watch us, and if what we’re doing in space is intruding on them in any way they’ll stop it. They might even be us coming back from the future (think Isaac Asimov).

In my series I imagine they agree to help us with our energy problems but conditionally, and with minimum contact. They’ll do this after we’ve gone through the dystopia that climate change will inevitably bring. Anyway it’s fun to examine the human species through the lens of beings that are more advanced technologically, scientifically and most importantly socially and culturally.
