The question I have is why is the government hiding the presence of UFO's? Some theorists have said it's because the aliens don't want us to know. Perhaps they've threatened humans in some way around disclosure?

Perhaps the aliens have told world governments that if they disclose their presence the consequences will be very unpleasant. We already know they have access to more advanced technology and science than we do. Probably better weapons.

They probably want to continue doing what they've always been doing here without interruption or negotiation or conflict. Because we have little to offer them the bargain is - you leave us alone and we'll leave you all alone.

What they failed to realize is we're catching up to them and unlike in the past they can't hide their presence from us. We now know enough about science and technology not to call them gods and point to the sky in awe. Now we know they're just a group of interplanetary visitors who have access to more advanced physics, chemistry and biology.
