Excellent article as always. The problems here do indeed run deep. The worldwide web has created a place for all kinds of misinformation to be spread, and until we come to grips with how we want to handle this excess of lies and garbage, we'll be at it's mercy. Russia and China certainly haven't shown the way, but neither have we in the West.

Second in my mind the last four years of high school must include civics and history. A compulsory course and taking place over all four years. At the end of senior year all high school students must take a test which they pass to get access to the vote. Exactly like a driving test. I certainly took such a test to become a US citizen. Citizenship and the vote is not given it is an earned right.

There will always be bias and differences of opinion amongst us. I know history is always written by the victors however this can be addressed.

It will be essential for Biden to protect voting rights and make election day a holiday and provide many places where people can cast their votes.

All this could be a simple start as we try to make it past what will happen to us over the next ten years, as we fight the devastating effects of climate change.

I believe we are in the Titanic, impossible to turn the ship around and therefore inevitable we'll hit the iceberg. Being an optimist however let's go down fighting!
