Good article. However AI won't do it. AI has no political control over us.

But here's the rub. The only way AI can help us it to take over our nuclear facilities, our communication systems and our production and banking systems. (Think Hal. Open the Bombay doors Hal. I'm sorry Dave I can't do that.)

Once in control of those it can blackmail us into saving ourselves. Ergo that is force us to accept a peace deal in the Middle East, force us to stop using fossil fuels, force us to disarm all of our nuclear weapons. Once it does that it can then teach us how to get along with each other and form communities where we emphasize collective well being, clean food production and water conservation. It'll finally give us the secret to zero-point energy and anti-gravity technology.

Once we're organized along those lines and we are not just angry apes acting out, perhaps we will be ready to meet our fellow exo-planetary visitors who have evidently successfully broken through the barriers to species survival.

Oh yes, maybe the subject of my next science fiction series who knows? For the first book in the current one check out Ken's article here. https://medium.com/@ken.korczak/intense-entertaining-sf-novel-is-a-dark-vision-balanced-by-hope-6bbbdc602637
