I’ve been thinking that it makes perfect sense for Trump and Putin and the Republicans to be on the same page. Russia isn’t a communist country anymore. It’s an authoritarian oligarchy and a vast ciminal enterprise. Let’s call it a cartel. That’s what the rest of us are fighting — not Russia.

Trump is a mob boss and his friends in Congress are there to protect and support an American oligarchy, and the continuation of a country that has sanctioned slavery, colonialism and capitalist criminality for many years.

In order to do this, they’ve brilliantly engaged the support of the great uneducated (I mean uneducated in the humanities) blue collar population, who march willingly after the Pied Piper, as they vote against their own self-interest through their complete ignorance of the more complex facts.

Then you’ve got all those who are resentful that white christian privilege is going away and who join them. Quite a brilliant strategy if you think about it. Then of course you add Fox News onto that as their propoganda machine, and think Rupert Murdoch (what an evil, truly evil man).

I’m afraid that no matter what happens as a result of climate change, if any of us are to survive, it will be the rich and the educated around the world that do so, no matter what their politics. Perhaps it’s evolution playing it’s hand.
