I agree with your anger and disgust and no don't shut up. Your voice is much needed. But please do vote.

It's especially important to keep engaged at the local level . That means city councils, school boards, boards of finance, and state government. I am so happy I live in a rational blue state and not in De Santis's crazy world of The Village and Disneyland. Perhaps one day climate change will do us all a favor and take it off the map.

I think that many of us agree that the Democratic Party has not delivered what they should. Your words speak truth to power. What scares many of us however is the alternative. The Republican Party now resembles the communist party of Joseph Stalin. Republicans have let go of their individual consciousness and allowed Trump, like the Russians did with Stalin, to become a tyrant.

How does a party prevent this kind of dictatorship. Rules and Constitutions unfortunately are what people make of them. The question is just how much of our individual responsibility are we prepared to delegate to a person or central body? I believe every political party, Democrat or Republican, should be made up of individuals who jealously guard their independent judgement before they devolve into a body of yes-people and abrogate their personal moral responsibility. You clearly feel the Democratic Party has done that and you might be right.

You should continue to speak out about it. However the alternative is much more frightening. It is a party which has encouraged mass social psychosis, and seeks to impose its moral and faith-based judgements on the rest of us.

When one considers blatant Republican gerrymandering and an electoral system which elevates the wishes of the minority in the Senate (Republicans) and the Presidency, no matter what bad players the Democrats are in our broken two-party system, one flirts with an America which could easily resemble a gentler version of Stalinist Russia in the early fifties.

I believe in your editorials, and I have written this merely to encourage you and others, despite our disappointment to vote Democrat. The alternative is far more frightening.
