I am a science fiction writer just finishing up the next two books in my series. I started writing science fiction rather late in life discovering I had a love of theoretical physics.

Anyway this took me into the world of how do they travel faster than light? I believe they’ve conquered space travel using zero point energy — or energy contained in the vacuum. This is how they fuel their craft. Think Tesla!

They bend space and time. Space is the three-dimensional body in which all things in the universe move. Spacetime, however, is the combined concepts of space and time into a four-dimensional continuum.

This concept of bending spacetime sprung from Einstein’s theory of general relativity which introduced the concept that wormholes in theory act as bridges between two points. Another potential method of travel is time dilation. Einstein’s theories predicted that time passes differently throughout the universe.

Anyway we’re a baby species. Newborn now and face to face with perhaps our progenitors. If time travel is possible then they’re coming from the future. Are they us…….so many questions. Ripe for philosophical as well as scientific enquiry.

I do know they’ll be smiling at Elon’s rockets — sort of how we do when newborns play with their first toys. What they don’t smile at is our use of nuclear weapons because they somehow disrupt the space/time continuum. Imagine a four year old playing with a loaded gun.
