I am always amazed at writers like you who cannot understand that the political system in this country is broken. Please write about that. This article is an incredibly flimsy rant. Please use your pen to advocate a major change in the structural deficiencies of the political system.

Your article is basically saying that you'd rather cut off your legs than have surgery to correct the issue. Cut off more than your legs perhaps.

We have a turbo charged minority government in place - it doesn't matter what the Democrats do. Firstly the composition of the Senate has to change. Right now 50 Republican Senators represent millions less people than the 50 Democratic Senators. We have a counter majoritarian political system. If you fund progressives they won't be able to achieve a damn thing. Once again unless the cancer of minority government is cut out it will spread and it will kill us.

I want to see young people like you and others that follow you making a loud sound about the entire political system. Urge blue governors to stand up for progressives because they're the only ones that can. Progressives will get blown away like a dandelion in the wind at the national level. They have neither the money nor the political clout to change anything.

Let me tell you my generation got out in the streets every single day to protest the war in Vietnam. Your generation is fighting for it's life. Take peacefully to the streets. Climate change will create conditions you can scarcely imagine. Fight this unfair political system with everything you've got because your very lives depend upon it. Democratic governors will be your best allies in this fight. Go to Texas and support Beto because Texas might hold the blue line for a few years. After that who knows?
