I believe these whatever they are who came into your room look on us as we look on the animals we experiment on. The Universe is very much more complex than we understand. Cruelty of any kind to children is abhorrent to many of us. While being technological masters I believe these others, much like many on Earth, put their goals over their methods. Some of them have made little attempt to communicate or understand who we are. Others much more so - as above so below. Let's hope those ones you met don't win the big Lebowski of humankind and our Earth.
