I do believe our political system is due for a massive overhaul and this won't happen without a lot of civil disobedience and possibly violence.

Once this period has passed then it will be up to state governors to get together and come up with a compromise solution which will completely change the nature of federal government and rewrite the constitution. Not such a bad thing.

It would be great if someone like Hamilton or Jefferson stepped forward (including in that choice women, African American men and Latino men) who could adopt a leadership position in a situation which is becoming blatantly obvious : the break down of democracy in the US and the republic of the US.

I do see some strength with the governors of the following states, ranked here by gdp and population.

California - 3,120,386 million.Texas - 1,772,132 million.New York - 1,705,127 million.Florida - 1,111,614 million.Illinois - 875,671 million.Pennsylvania - 788,500 million.Ohio - 683,460 million.Washington - 632,013 million.

Clearly California will eventually not accept a Republican government which has been gerrymandered from top to bottom (Supreme Court included). The economy of the State of California is the largest in the United States, with a $3.4 trillion gross state product (GSP) as of 2021. It is the largest sub-national economy in the world. If California were a sovereign nation (2022), it would rank as the world's fifth largest economy, behind Germany and ahead of India.

It seems abundantly clear that sensible minds must prevail and the topic should be put on the table firmly and immediately by a group of sensible Republicans and the governors of the largest states with the highest gdp.
