I enjoyed this article. However until we get rid of poverty and inequality, we as a conscious species won't be worth saving. We're definitely an important link in the galactic evolutionary chain, but not the end goal.

Given the appalling conditions many human children experience, and the disparate wealth enjoyed by a handful of individuals, our fate has already been sealed. I would much prefer to see us disappear and a more evolved species take our place here on Earth, over the next million years.

I hope the best of our human characteristics and genes would be taken however, and used to develop human 2.0.
