I hope we think about what comes next. I am wondering if those who show immunity will be the ones who are allowed to work. If this happens then we need to create a system where one’s who work support those that can’t. Perhaps a sane government under Democratic leadership will understand something that our tribal societies have understood for years, the young and healthy support those who aren’t. We all need to consume less. Our over consumption has caused the breakdown of our planet and all the attendant problems that go along with that. We need to prepare for the pandemic and increasingly severe effects from climate change, and perhaps this will be a wake up call that our capitalist society has needed for a very long time. Democratic socialism works for everyone and Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are right. We can’t adopt it right away but we sure can move towards it a heck of a lot faster. No one in Norway complains about how the country is run and it’s a great model for us to adopt.
