I think you are forgetting that Black voters supported Joe Biden. Black voters have been disenfranchised for far too long by both progressive leftists and voters on the far right. If we want to preserve a culture where racism thrives, then I think we should just go on laying the blame for Bernie Sanders failure on everything other than the fact that Black voters did not turn out to support him in great numbers.

It makes me sad that young white liberal progressives keep turning away from that one critical fact. The desires and needs of Black voters may not parallel their own, but they are an important part of the Democratic Party and our democracy going forward, and we need to honor their choice. It has been upon their backs historically and now joined by Hispanics working in low wage jobs that our economy has been built. It was without doubt Joe Biden and not Bernie Sanders that they voted for in large numbers. We cannot continue to tell them as Democrats that Bernie would have been the best candidate for them to vote for, we must honor the choice they made by voting for the candidate they wanted.

I am delighted to learn that the Sanders campaign is going to help Biden’s campaign reach out to Hispanic voters across the country, another disenfranchised group. This is excellent news and much needed going forward. I am also delighted to understand that Biden governs by committee and consensus, and that he will be including Warren and Sanders and many others of both Black, Asian, First Peoples and Hispanic origin in his inner circle.

I believe Joe Biden will draw on Bernie and Elizabeth to widen his approach and policies towards poverty and health care and climate change. To round back to Barack Obama, he himself has recently said strongly that the party cannot be the same as it was going forward, and that it must redefine it’s approach.

I hope that many young progressive leftists will continue to do what Bernie has done and recognize that the enemy is Donald Trump and the Republican Party not Barack Obama. We would like you to join us as we turn full frontal assault on them — we want you to be a critical part of helping us man the barricades. This will be the fight of all our lifetimes and will define what our lives will be like going forward, and most importantly the lives of the people we all wish to support with a blast of progressive and humane policies. Biden and the Democratic Party may not be ideal or what your want, but it offers the best chance we’ve got right now to defeat the dangerous, ignorant, tyrant and his many minions that occupy the White House and federal government.
