I was sickened by those celebrations as well. Unfortunately the reporters didn't do their jobs. My first question to the people who were whooping it up would have been - and how do you feel about jeopardizing the lives of the immune compromised and our youngest children?

I agree with your assessment of how COVID's been handled by Biden, but right now we have the choice of the frying pan or the fire.

Working on the local level has promise I think and then at the State level. I am in favor of a break up of the US into autonomous regions rather like the EU. Minority government at the Federal level just doesn't work, and these wretched policies around COVID are the result of political compromise at its worst.

Imagine being able to pick up the phone and reach your local rep and then your state rep, and for them to have the power to put mask mandates in place for the workplace, the schools and other gathering places where you live.

This judge has effectively just set legal precedent and now even if we have an EBOLA outbreak, our federal government won't be able to mandate mask wearing. If Biden doesn't challenge this ruling immediately then it is indeed as you put it a question of life and death.

As for public transport - I'm afraid I won't be using it to travel domestically for a very long time!
