If you add up the scores of the three candidates you arrive at 47.7 - Trump obtained 51%. To me that is hopeful - it means that there is a gap of 3.3% between those that did not want Trump. Where will those voters lean next November? Of course Iowa is solidly Republican but it shows that quite a strong majority within the Iowa Republican Party did not want Trump. I believe those who voted for Haley will be available to the Democratic Party in November. Haley is a candidate who could swing either towards ultra conservatism or pragmatism. Say half of Haley's support goes to Biden then that is a good thing.
