I’ve just finished reading Reza Aslan’s excellent book called God A Human History. Before that I read Zealot by Aslan. Both interesting books regarding the history of how the idea of God came to be in human civilization, and the actual history of the man we call Jesus.

In his book God, after brilliantly taking us through his research, Aslan states: “For me, and for countless others, “the One” is what I call God. But the God I believe in is not a personalized God. It is a dehumanized God:a God with no material form; a God who is pure existence, without name, essence, or personality.”

I noted in the margins of the book for myself, “and we, within the confines of our lives consider a series of probabilities, which we then manifest by our own choice.”

I think any one who seriously studies the questions: “What is God, who are we, and what is our relationship to God and the world in which we find ourselves?” must also consider a quantum God and the nature of observable reality.
