I had a great conversation with a local farmer who voted for Trump. Surprisingly enough we agreed on eighty percent of our political thoughts. His beef is that he works hard and always has and there are too many people getting handouts. I don't agree with that in the slightest of course. I replied that the minimum wage can't support families and many work two or three jobs just to make it and children suffer.

However we agreed on the fact that when the climate changes he will grow oranges instead of apples. We agreed that he and I will be part of a small rural community that supports each other and exchanges fruit for honey. We raise bees. We agreed that we'll hunt together in our woods that are teaming with game and that we will support each other. He said as I left with a smile "and I have guns too". I smiled back and answered sadly "yes we'll need those."

He then tapped my arm and said " but you wouldn't be prepared to use them would you?" I turned to him and replied "I don't know we'll have to see when the time comes won't we. If it's protecting my grandchildren maybe."
