Perhaps the biggest question in all of the cosmos is that of life beyond Earth. With so many stars and planets, and with the raw ingredients for life found strewn all about the Universe, there are enormous numbers of proverbial lottery tickets out there: chances for life to arise, survive, persist, and thrive. But humanity still awaits the discovery of our first instance of life beyond Earth, whether it be primitive life on worlds far beyond our own, complex life on a world where biological activity has occurred for billions of years, or intelligent, technologically advanced life that we might someday contact and communicate with.
I would take issue with this statement above. We are not still awaiting discovery of our first instance of life beyond Earth. If you've been following the news you'll see that we have evidence - hard evidence. I am wondering if you are aware of the Sol Foundation's work? They've taken the bull by the horns by moving the question of life beyond Earth out of the government's hands and into their own. They are putting the full strength of a group of high level scientists and humanists to work. This includes Avi Loeb who will receive a lot of peer reviews on his findings from this group of prestigious and courageous leaders, of which he is one.
I understand your skepticism and commend it. However I hope you will read the papers they've recently presented and follow their work, even debunking some of it if you feel it is necessary. Progress is only made when we hypothesize with our right brain and then rigorously look at the evidence with our left.
I personally have researched the area of UAP/UFO and all connected phenomena, and would stake my reputation on the fact that there are non-human intelligences of some kind involved here on Earth in some way. Where they come from I do not know. Are they exo-planetary, planetary or inter-dimensional or all three? I have many more questions than answers, but it is an intriguing field. It maybe one of the most important questions that humanity has ever found answers to.
