Quite frankly my background and experience of race and culture and my mental processes are very complicated. Yes I believe it was a kind of reductionism, I find it helps me find sanity in the crazy world we live in.

In my writing and in my life it’s an issue I take extremely seriously. It’s also something I address positively in many ways.
