If they share the planet with us which seems more and more likely, then of course they'll be concerned. If they come from nearby planets they will also be concerned.
In my fourth book in the series I imagine them watching the bombs we dropped on Japan and their reaction and then their warnings to us. Of course I anthropomorphize them in order to create human-like characters whom we can understand and relate to.
Here is a tiny excerpt:
“It’s too cruel,” a voice says in his ear.“We have a duty to witness this,” another replies, as the devastation to humans and property continues to unfold. “Millions of them evaporating into liquid and dust,” someone he can’t see remarks nearby. “ How fragile human bodies are, so easily pulled apart .”
As Zid hears this conversation going on around him, he feels grimness growing inside him like heavy stones in the pockets of the suicidal.
Because all of his senses are fully engaged, he begins to realize he cannot escape from the current reality he has found himself to be in. He hears someone else near him saying, “I did not anticipate the level of violence caused by the electromagnetic pulses which have been released, It seems as if a million lightning bolts are striking at once.”
