The lesson for us all to learn here is that no matter whom we choose as a partner acrimonious splits are extremely common.

I have two daughters both of whom would probably avoid running for Congress because they have interesting pasts, including one who went through an acrimonious divorce and is still suffering through it three years later.

Unfortunately these kinds of situations will continue to haunt millenials who become public figures in the age of the internet and cell phone cameras. Let this be a dire warning and perhaps encourage us all to put them away in our more intimate and private moments. Human memory has been given to us to serve this exact purpose.
