Then you are looking for a constitutional amendment that would give States more rights? In essence more of a European Union model than an American one? If the model you’re suggesting were adopted, then those rural states you are talking about in your first response would have fewer resources to govern and provide social safety nets. As I said in my first response the taxes from the bigger wealthier more liberal states are currently subsidizing them doing this. I’m not talking about the Warren Buffet’s of the world, I’m talking about myself and wondering why my taxes are providing support to soy bean farmers in Iowa?

To return to my original point I think representation in the Senate should be proportional to the population that Senators represent. Proportional representation would then reflect the will of the majority of voters in the US.
