What a great essay. Thank you!
I am a female hard science fiction writer. I am a fan of Asimov but also of LeGuin, who of course explores the social bones of how futuristic societies of people could and may function together.
I just published the first book in my series Until This Last (title a tribute to Ruskin and Ghandi). Tech bros are my antagonists of the future. The society we evolve into post the effects of climate change is a technological plutocracy.
But there is hope rendered through a group of fearless young scientists, and a cloned visitor from another planet.
Science and technology are balanced in my books with a regard for human creativity, and our desire to live in small, well-functioning, supportive communities. Communities which work in harmony with the planet on which we have evolved to live and not against it.
Yes I'm a female writer but one which loves quantum physics, genetics, biology as well as the social sciences - including philosophy and theories of quantum consciousness.
Below an excellent review of my book by fellow medium writer Ken Korczak.
