You are on the same track as I am.
I cover much of this speculative ground in my five book science fiction series to be published this year and next . The first book The Burning Years will be available on Amazon after July 25.
Yes in the second book Homo Deus, a female scientist (ergo god) produces a cloned version of a human from the genetic material of the ancient Sumerian god Ningishzida . I picked him because I liked his description a lot - alchemist and scientist and architect. This new human has all of its scientific and technlogocial knowledge intact within its "junk" DNA. Zid as he is called, shares this with us!
The series is a romp through science, philosophy and futuristic speculation. I am particularly interested in how we'll survive climate change. I think we can assume we are past the point of no return, and must individually and collectively figure out ways we survive it - other than going off planet. The collapse of the Bronze Age is about to repeat itself for us! As they say it's coming around again.
I like the idea of proto cell technology and living architecture. This has been advanced in theory by Dr. Rachel Armstrong. Living architecture is based on a chemical RNA that is sympathetic to us and creates many renewable things we are going to need post climate change - housing, clothing, heat, cooling - the list is endless. Information on the series and proto cell technology to be found on my website https://theburningyears.squarespace.com/
