Yup Mr. Gell you’re right. That’s why since I retired I’ve made it my life’s work to write cli fi. It’s taken me to some strange places including the nature of reality.

My current theory is to write, not about the dystopia you describe, which will without doubt happen to us, but about how we’re going to survive it, using the science and technology we already have.

Think living on Mars and how we might do that..underground, domes, terraforming, using proto-cell technology etc. etc.

As we gradually pull out of the disastrous effects climate change will have on our planet many hundreds of years in the future, we’ll need a profoundly different energy source and some help to get it from our inter-planetary or intra planetary brothers and sisters. I kid you not they’re here and they’re watching.

I went from writing regular novels into science fiction (really a kind of inducted and deducted modern form of prophecy based on current science as distinct from fantasy), because we need a plausible way out.
